finished my blank pages last night, and have posted them over at Create by Faith. I am so looking forward with anticipation and joy in spending Advent with Jesus, studying His word, and allowing it to transform me. Join us- you don't have to make a art journal, you can do the devotional part only.
I am reading a great book I highly recomend J. Scott McElroy's Finding Divine Inspiration. It is all about working with the Holy Spirit in Your creativity.
I love what he says about journaling "This journal is the history of a glorious relationship, a never-ending love, and a constant faithfulness and it is also a uniquely fulfilling form of creative collaboration. I express myself ot God; He expresses Himself to me; we create a living, gorwing relationship." page 88 This so expresses why I do visual journaling! I realized that it is a time to spend with God and create a history of my relationship with Him. I want it to be as beautiful as my relationship with Him.
I invite you to transform your preparation of Christmas from one of commercial expectations/ obligations to one of personal transformation and spiritual affirmation by creating a 2010 faith devotional with us.
Here are some pics of my "blank" journal.
Stay tuned as Advent begins on Sunday Nov 28, and I will be sharing lots of techniques and creative ideas about scrapbooking your devotional time!
