His Kingdom Come is focusing on the April monthly theme of "I am in Christ" with this creative prompt " I cannot be separated from the love of God". I have the pleasure of bringing you a simple tag project that symbolizes our theme.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:35-39
I just love this verse and the list of things that you might think would keep you from God's love, however Paul tells us very clearly there is NOTHING, or NO ONE that can separate me from God's love! What a powerful thought to meditate on, absorb, and abide in!
Last Friday Shonna wrote this for our devotion:
Paul references Psalm 44:22 which says “For your sake we face death all day long, we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” Paul goes on to say that “No, we are more than Conquerors through Him who loved us.” But what does that mean? How can sheep be more than conquerors? Because of Christ and what He did for us on that cross. He gave us victory over anything that comes our way in this life and more importantly, He gave us victory over death. Once we give our lives over to him completely, we are “in Him” and nothing can separate us from His love. Does that mean we will no longer face any difficulties? No, but as Christians, we are promised that on that road of life, Jesus will be with us each step of the way. He is our victor, our conqueror, our intercessor and our one true love!! Our road in this life will sometimes be so rocky that we don’t think we will be able to go on. I don’t know about you, but for me, I would much rather travel that rocky road with Jesus than without Him because nothing will get to me that doesn’t pass through Him first. In Christ, I am a conqueror!
Thanks Shonna- great thoughts- let's try to live these verses this week!
Technique: I wanted to demonstrate how we cant be separated from God, and by layering 3 tags with the words duplicated, it symbolizes to me that nothing can separate me from His love. I used a large#10 tag (4x8) as my template, and created a flip tag! Hope you enjoy the technique.
I created a print file for the bible verse if you want to use it. It is in the His Kingdom Come FB group for you to download.
