Last Sunday my friend Shameka and I spent time just playing and creating. After catching up on our lives, we decided to gelli print. I just love gelli printing. So freeing- creative- fun! Spending time with friends, with no agenda, no time frame, and lots of supplies is relaxing. It helps me to calm my heart, allow my creativity to lead and to go closer to God.
We used 3 main colors, with black and white as accents.
Liquitex Basics- Cadmium yellow and Quinacridone Magenta
Pebeo Studio Acrylics - Iridescent Blue Black, Iridescent Violet Blue, Iridescent Silver
Sorry I didn't take pictures of the gelli prints! We created about 40 prints on a variety of papers- invoice pages ( given to me by an old friend), word search book paper (from Dollar Tree), music paper, cardstock, old book pages. We each choose the pages we liked, matched up and glued pages back to back, then randomly folded the pages and put together with a great roll of tape I got at Michael's a few years ago. It looks like black packaging tape, but has designs on it when you unroll it. Love how it shows the colors through the tape!
I decided to use the book to doodle and write Christian quotes that I want to remember. Titled my booklet "my soul hangs on your every word". I used a variety of pens. Favorite to write over paint are the Posca Paint pens- I got a 5 color set on Amazon. Sharpie and Bic roller pens. On some of the left over pages, I used the StampinUP tab punch.
I loved the time we spent creating, and for me writing the quotes, doodling and praying to God. If you haven't tried to make a quote book (or commonplace book) try it, therapeutic and so delightful. Would make a good gift too!
What are your favorite quotes that get you through the valleys?
