Welcome to a very exciting blog hop. Today we are celebrating the launch of a brand new online Christian Creative Community: His Kingdom Come.
This is an online Community where fellow Christians can encourage, share and learn about Christianity and explore the God-given creativity that he has put in us all. It will be a safe place to share your faith, be inspired, and explore creativity across many art mediums - journaling, mixed media, painting, bible journaling, textiles, watercolor and more. His Kingdom Come will offer free tutorials, technique classes, devotionals, crafts to celebrate the holidays, opportunities to go deeper in your faith and in your knowledge of God and the Bible. The website will also offer Christian artists a platform to host classes (free or fee-based) which you will be able to sign up for.
A team of talented Christian artists have come together to launch this exciting new community. This blog hop is your chance to get to know them.
It doesn’t matter where you start within the blog hop. Each blog has the complete list of participants.

Let me introduce myself:
I am Diane Marra. I am a mixed media self-taught faithartist living in beautiful Palm Bay FL ( central Fl near Melbourne). I lived for over 40 years in Northern VA and moved to FL July 2013, when God told me to let go of most of what I was holding onto in my life- my dream home, my large yard, 22 year history with my church, my church family and my adult children living in VA. He brought me to FL where I have a beautiful small ranch home in Bayside Lakes a growing planned community. I have 6 children Patrick & his wife Vivi, 2 grandsons Patrick and Dominic; Andrew & Tara; Zachary and my adopted daughters Vera 21, Natalya 19 and Deanna 16. I am a blessed mother and grandmother.
I was raised in the Methodist faith, and then like many others, walked away from God in my teens. When I became a mother, I wanted my family to be involved in a church, so we started to attend a church. I was born again in 1991 in TX at a huge Southern Baptist church and there my walk with Jesus began. He became my savior then and the Lord of my life almost 10 years later.
How does my faith impact my creativity?
I was always creative, from decorating my parents home as a teenager, to painting in my 20's, to scrapbooking, card making, etc. I began my faithart journey through scrapbooking. Almost 10 years ago, I felt God leading me to only create for His glory and Honor, so all of my work is what I call translating the secular world into faithart. Everything I read or see as art projects, I am constantly thinking how I can make that refelect my faith, and Jesus' words. I love to teach others how to create art that reflects their faith!
What is my preferred medium? What appeals to me about it?
I love mixed media and journaling and bible journaling ( even though mine is not in my bible yet,it is in countless art journals). I love bright colors and turquoise is my favorite color now. ( I decorated my home in aqua, orange, yellow, lime green and white!) I love taking a blank canvas and praying and asking God to guide my hands and heart as I use lots of different tools to create a depiction of a topic, or verse that he has laid on my heart.
What other areas of creativity do I dabble in?
I love to decorate homes- teaching people how to reuse, recycle and be creative in experessing themselves in their homes. I staged houses for fun for a realtor in Northern VA, and loved it! I sew ( drapes, pillows), I garden and I used to dance (ballroom dancing instructor during college). Cooking is my absolute favorite way to spend time- I love to cook new recipes and share with others!
What is my role in HIs Kingdom Come team?
God put the idea on my heart about 2 years ago, and due to family circumstances couldn't bring to fruition. Then God introduced me to Bernice Hopper, and she and I became art friends on the internet and we started talking about how we both had the same heart for community. Then Bernice shared that we needed a TEAM to make this happen and she created our development team. I am a marketing/advertising creative person, so I am working in that area, also in the business end behind the scenes, creating the LLC, the finances, etc. I have so many ideas, and the team helps bring them to fruition!
What are my hopes for the community?
His Kingdom come is HIS- my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's. I believe Jeremiah 29:11 is the perfect guide for this community.
Jeremiah 29:11-14New Living Translation (NLT)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
He knows and will use this community to bring people to Him, to deepen their faith, to spend more time with each of us as we go through the Take me deeper and Logos365 projects in 2015. I am blessed to be part of the community and pray that God will use all my God given talents to bless Him, others and to reach the lost. I hope that we create an army of Christian Creatives who can feel bold to express their faith on the internet, in their familes and in their lives!
