Prompt: cover a page in hearts
My journaling this week has words I want to remember from reading "Spriritual Whitespace" by Bonnie Gray. I finished the book yesterday and really got a lot of heart wisdom from her story and from the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
1 Kings 8:61 is the bible verse that spoke to me about my heart. "May you demonstrate WHOLEHEARTED devotion to the Lord our God by following his rules and obeying his commandments as you are presently doing." This is from Solomon, after he finished praying in the temple, he spoke to the whole assembly of Israel.
What does it mean to be wholehearted? After some bible study, I found these wise words" Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord your God.... sincere in your love to him, united in worship of him and constant in obedience to him, to walk in his statues, to keep his commandments, so at the day Solomon is speaking the people had not yet fallen into idolatry. Keep showing a zeal for God, his house and worship Him."
We are all captivated by wholeheartedness because we all long to be wholehearted ourselves. We were made for it! God gave us that longing and the Bible is the ultimate story of wholehearted living. Jesus coming- living and dying wholly for us, working through us to lead the world to him and eventually coming back to give us all an eternity in his glorious presence is the ultimate example of wholeheartedness!
Bonnie refers to the time Jesus took to rest because "nurturing his soul with his father was more important that what He could do. Putting our hearts first- letting Jesus love us- is a new journey of resting with Him.
creating spiritual whitespace for my heart to sing to His
allowing Him to love me
calling myself His beloved
this is my journey.
God opened some amazing doors for AHC this week. At a bible study on Tuesday met the women's ministry leader for a very large church and on Thursday, met local artists at an open house for a new art space called Art More Place. I felt at home and so blessed to meet these artists and hope to begin teaching faithart there! Thank you Jesus for bringing me to Palm Bay and loving me.
